The situation at W Jeff was much different than the one I saw at Ochsner. When I got to W Jeff, I couldn't pull in where I did the day before. It was blocked by a couple of campers. People were sitting in lawn chairs in parking lots all around the hospital. It was weird. They were mostly white and pretty trashy. I managed to find the loading dock and pulled in. I had to pull in around trash everywhere. When I jumped out of the truck I landed in knee-deep rotten garbage and food. I remember the smell and sight of rotten creamed corn. The stench was terrible and was immediately also all over my pants since I landed in it. I managed to wade through the mess to the steps and up them. I got into the hospital and found someone that could show me how to get to the pharmacy. Needless to say they were extremely upset that I only had a few items that they needed. They still had no ability to call out, so the main pharmacist gave me the number of the salesman and asked me to call him and ask him to help them get their drugs. They were down to eating pork and beans and feeling pretty desperate. Apparently they still hadn't heard from the police or the National Guard. They still had no insulin and needed it badly. By the time I left the hospital, I could have punched the people at Robin in the mouth. People were dying and no one was doing anything to stop it.
It was odd the differences between W Jeff and Ochsner. Ochsner was doing well thanks to being prepared and raiding the Sav A Center Warehouse. They didn't have mounds of trash in their delivery bay and they had some areas of AC. W Jeff had no food, no water, no AC, and rotting trash everywhere. I called the salesman as soon as I got a signal and told him about the situation at W Jeff. He promised to see what he could do about getting them supplies and communications.
The next morning Robin sent a few totes, still no big order, but McKesson did send them a few items. Insulin yes thank God.
The rest of my trip to NOLA was pretty uneventful. I tried to get across to the city but I couldn't get past the guards (I think they were J Parish Sheriff's Deputies) to cross the GNO. I couldn't get past Ochsner because the water was still too high. I wanted to try and get to my house but there was no way with the water that high. I was going to try again on Monday since I knew I had to leave the next day to go to my mom's and see Lisa and the dog.
I honestly can not remember the rest of this day except I was tired and worn out from all the long days and nights.
